The National Institute for Law & Equity (NILE) conducts research, hosts public forums and disseminates information on a variety of topics to public policy makers and the public to inform them of the influence local, state and national policies have on the disparities in the criminal and juvenile justice systems.

One of the NILE’s core program initiatives has been its development of the Mothers of the NILE. The Mothers of the NILE’s mission is to reduce the number of children entering the Juvenile and Criminal Justice System. It has been quite successful in producing a series of public forums to discuss this important community problem.
The NILE also produces and distributes the quarterly “The NILE Report”. The NILE Report features research-based articles on an assortment of criminal and juvenile justice issues. It is also a source for learning about upcoming NILE-sponsored programs, as well as other community events that raise public understanding and discussion about the criminal justice system and policies.
